What's included: replacement wire "pigtail", 4x 1" heat shrink, 2x 3 ½" heat shrink
What you need: wire strippers, flux, solder, soldering iron, heat gun/hair dryer

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Prepare Harness in Boat

  • Cut off old/damaged rubber plug.
  • Split each wire pair to about 1 ½” down (see image 1).
  • Strip ¼” of insulation off each individual wire (see image 2).
  • Tin exposed wires with flux & solder.

2. Connect Rate Sensor

  • Locate appropriate wires on pigtail (holes A and D - see image 3).
  • Slide long heat shrink over rate sensor wire pair (see image 4).
  • Slide short length of heat shrink over each individual wire (see image 5).
  • Locate ribbed (textured) wire on both pigtail and sensor.
  • Connect ribbed wires together with flux & solder (see image 6).
  • Repeat for plain (smooth) wire.

3. Connect Speaker Harness

  • Locate appropriate wires on pigtail (holes B and C - see image 3).
  • Slide long heat shrink over speaker harness wire pair.
  • Slide short length of heat shrink over each individual wire.
  • Locate ribbed (textured) wire on both pigtail and harness.
  • Connect ribbed wires together with flux & solder.
  • Repeat for plain (smooth) wire.

4. Insulate Connections

  • Center short heat shrink over solder joint.
  • With heat gun or hair dryer, melt short heat shrink pieces over each solder joint (see image 7).
  • Repeat for all four solder joints.
  • Center long heat shrink over pairs of wire joints.
  • Melt long heat shrink over both pairs of connections (see image 8).
