NK is voluntarily recalling the R2 Microphone for the Cox Box® 08 and the Cox Box Mini® due to potential electric shock hazard. Electric current may be conducted through water or moisture from exposed speaker wiring to the user (coxswain) and cause a low-voltage electric shock or burn from contact with the metal boom of the microphone. Consumers should stop using this product immediately.

This recall includes any NK R2 Microphone with an exposed black metal boom (pictured below). Microphones purchased after Sept. 1, 2012 have a rubber-covered microphone boom and are not covered by this recall. This recall does not affect NK BNC Microphones.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONSUMERS:

  1. Immediately stop using the recalled R2 Microphones, and complete the order form below to obtain a free replacement microphone.
  2. Return the recalled R2 Microphones to the NK facility by postal mail. Recalled R2 Microphones must be shipped to the following address to complete the order process:

  3. Consumers will receive an “Order Confirmation” by email. Print the “Order Confirmation” and include it with your return package.

PLEASE NOTE: Replacement requests will not be fulfilled until NK has received your recalled R2 Microphone. NK will replace microphones one-for-one with those returned and will make every effort to ship replacements within 15 business days.
