As a teacher, I'm always looking for ways to engage kids in science. The Kestrel 2000 Pocket Wind Meter is a perfect way to teach weather. The anemometer function is easy to read, quick to react, and helps kids correlate the speed of the wind with the feeling of the air blowing past their faces. The temperature function -- in both Fahrenheit and Celsius -- is also a great way to teach temperature as well as conversion functions. Its rugged construction is absolutely essential when dealing with youngsters. I've lost way too many thermometers and paper-cup anemometers to enthusiastic but less than adept fingers. But the Kestrel 2000 Pocket Wind Meter keeps going and going. I'd recommend this to anyone.
