ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN - DESIGN

Nielsen-Kellerman is seeking applicants for the position of Electronics Technician to join our Design Engineering team.

This position requires an experienced, knowledgeable, self-directed, team-oriented, communicative and energetic individual with solid electronics technician skills. You will be completing specific assignments contributing to the start-to-finish design of high-quality consumer electronics products. This position will report to the Design Engineering Manager. Experience in a consumer electronics manufacturing environment will be considered a major advantage.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Schematic layout and entry
  
• Circuit board layout with direction (PADS)
  
• Prototype construction to schematics, testing and troubleshooting
  
• Test fixture construction
  
• Troubleshooting and testing analog and digital circuitry, including microprocessors
  
• Component research, data sheet comparison, testing, analysis and recommendation
  
• Creation and verification of Engineering Bills of Materials
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates Degree, Technical School Degree, Military training or equivalent work experience
  
• 3+ years proven electronics technician experience
  
• Ability to reading component data sheets
  
• Knowledge of correct use of standard laboratory test equipment
  
• Mechanical aptitude and interest
  
• Facility with internet research
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  
• Solid written and oral communication skills

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with design and assembly of electronics products
  
• Experience with surface mount technology
  
• Knowledge of PADS software
  
• Ability to work with machine tools including CNC machines
  
• Knowledge of C programming

This position is full-time with a starting salary between $21.00 and $25.00 per hour dependant on experience and qualifications.
